We’ve been talking about contests for a long time and we are thrilled to announce our long-planned weekly contests are nearly ready for launch! After months of development and testing, we’re putting the final touches on a brand new way to play our game. We’ve focused on creating a game mode that gives quick results, new challenges every week, and dynamic ways to compete outside the normal league structure. The initial format of these contests will be Salary Cap Survivor.

What Is Salary Cap Survivor?

Salary Cap Survivor is a format that combines elements of daily fantasy games with BaseHit simulation and gameplay. Here’s what makes it unique to the site:

• Build Your Dream Team: Unlike our traditional leagues where your ability to build your team can be constrained by draft order or competition for free agents, Salary Cap Survivor gives you a new level of strategic freedom. All managers have access to the same complete player pool, allowing tons of possible paths to construct your ideal roster. While a few basic requirements exist (minimum roster positions and salary cap), the strategic approach you take is entirely up to you – power hitters or small ball specialists? Dominant starters or deep bullpen? You make the call.
• Fast Results & Competitive Format: No waiting weeks or months to see if your strategy pays off. Each Salary Cap Survivor contest delivers daily results and wraps up in just five days. The tournament format adds intensity as we narrow the field each day through eliminations, until only one GM remains standing at week’s end. Every day you survive is an achievement, and there’s always next week’s contest to try out a new approach if you failed miserably this week.
• Weekly Fresh Start: A new contest begins every Monday, creating an ongoing series of challenges for you to master. The weekly format gives you tons of flexibility – jump in every week to build your skills and climb the leaderboards, or take breaks when life gets busy without falling behind. Each contest stands alone, so you’ll always start on equal footing with everyone else, whether you played last week or not.
• Test Out New Strategies: Every week there is a new player pool to work with and a new set of opponents you’ll be playing against. It’s a great environment to experiment with approaches you might never try in traditional leagues. Have you been playing the game the same way for years? This is your chance to break out of established patterns. With this new format, nobody has discovered the optimal strategy yet – we’ll all be learning and evolving our approaches together.

Tournament of Champions Announcement Coming Next Week!

We’re excited to announce that our Tournament of Champions is getting a complete makeover this year!

• Double the invitees: 64 players (expanded from the previous 32)
• Half the run-time: Three weeks (rather than two+ months)
• The official debut of our Salary Cap Survivor format

We’re keeping most details under wraps until next week when we’ll make the official Tournament of Champions announcement including the full list of qualified participants. If you’re wondering about your qualification status, we appreciate your patience as we finalize everything for the formal announcement.

• Fresh challenges every week with varying player pools, opponents, and potentially even different eras or rule sets
• Good entry point for newcomers who want to learn our game without a months-long commitment
• Strategic laboratory to test different approaches and roster constructions in a controlled environment
