To those that have participated in weekly contests so far: Thanks for making the first three contests awesome – we’ve had 180 different users join us so far and the feedback is encouraging and helping us evolve the format, and I am excited about seeing how Salary Cap Survivor #4 plays out.
To those that haven’t tried a contest yet: What you waiting for? It’s free, it’s easy, you can learn some things, you can help us learn some things – I know a lot of us are accustomed to playing the same way we always have, but you know…even MLB added a pitch clock. Try it out.
And to those of who’ve been away from the game: If you’ve ever thought about coming back to BaseHit but weren’t sure you had the time to commit to traditional leagues, this format is for you! Salary Cap Survivor gives you a chance to instantly ‘draft’ players and build a team, then get results that week instead of waiting months to see if your strategy works.
What Makes This Format Good for Any Schedule
Quick Setup: Build a team that meets your specs in 15 minutes
Fast Results: Daily updates over just 5 days
Freedom to Choose: Select any available players that keep you under the cap – no draft competition or free agency bidding wars

Salary Cap Survivor #4: Biggest Changes Yet
We’ve got a growing set of data from the contests run so far, and lots of feedback through conversations with users, and we’ve made some significant changes we’re excited to try out:
Expanded Game Schedule (54 → 81 games)
More games should mean some better separation in the standings and reduce some of the random variation. But it’s still baseball, where even great teams lose 40% of the time.
50% Larger Player Pool + Tighter Budget Challenge
More choices available, with a reduced salary cap ($55 million) should force more creative team building. The goal is not for everyone to play the same way every week – the goal is to see if different strategies and roster constructions can find success.
Standardized Competition
Similar opponents and stadiums all week should reduce some of the day-to-day whiplash in the standings that comes with highly specialized opponents – we’ll be testing whether more consistent competition makes for a better experience.
Father’s Day Special Prize
Our winner gets their choice of a ’47 brand baseball cap of their choosing – perfect timing for Father’s Day weekend!

To our regular participants: Thanks for continuing to make these contests awesome and helping us build something special – they’ll continue to evolve and we hope you’ll see the improvement over time.
To those still on the fence: What are you waiting for? Jump in and see why we keep talking contests!
To those of you who’ve been away: Welcome back – we’ve missed you, and this is the perfect way to rediscover why you enjoyed CSFBL/BaseHit. The community has been incredible, the competition is fun, and you’ll be amazed how quickly you get back into the swing of things.
