The Next Evolution is Here
For over two months of weekly Salary Cap Survivor contests (link: Learn How Salary Cap Survivor works), we’ve been building toward something bigger. Every format we’ve tested, every lineup strategy that’s emerged, every one of you who has pulled off a clutch Friday survival – it’s all pointed us toward this next step – the first BaseHit championship series open-to-all.
The Survivor Circuit is a championship structure to bring these contests together.
Think of it like this: the weekly contests to this point have been the preseason. Now the real season starts – 10 weekly contests of variable formats, where Circuit points and weekly wins determine who makes it through to the semifinals and finals and ultimately is crowned our inaugural Survivor Circuit Champion.

How the Circuit Works
Multiple paths to the championship:
- The Express Route – dominate from the start
Finish 1st-6th overall after 10 weeks and skip straight to the Finals - The ‘Basehit’ Route – steady contact & consistent scoring (see what I did there)
Finish 7th-14th overall after 10 weeks and you’re in the Semifinals - The Lightning Strike Route: swing for the fences
Win ANY individual weekly contest and you auto-qualify for Semifinals
The prizes:
- $250 to the champion, custom BaseHit merch for all finalists
- $100 prize for top Circuit Rookie – meaning users playing their first contest during the circuit. (If someone wins the entire circuit as a rookie, the next highest would get the $100.)
- Site admins will be competing right alongside everyone else – we want to have fun and will be trying to win just like the rest of you! But all prize money will go to the next non-admin players eligible.
The formats: Each week features a different contest format – you can see a week with 4-man rotations, huge slugging opponents, or tougher salary caps (and by popular demand we’ll have one week where we pump up the salary cap for those dream builds). We’re going to learn from watching each other navigate different strategic situations.
Your time commitment: You can build your lineup in 15 minutes if you want to keep it simple, then check back daily to see how you’re surviving. Same flexibility as always, but now with a championship at the end.

Can’t play every week? No problem. Miss a few weeks or join late? You’ve still got a shot. ANY single weekly win gets you to the semifinals – perfect attendance not required. We’d love to have you competing every week – it’ll improve your chances, and it’s more fun for everyone, but we designed this so you still have a chance to win it all even if life gets in the way.
Circuit scoring and tracking your progress: Survive deeper in the week, earn more points. Eliminated Tuesday (10 pts), Wednesday (30 pts), Thursday (60 pts), Friday (100 pts), or make Saturday Finals (150+ pts). Every day you last counts toward your Circuit total.
You’ll be able to follow the action on the dedicated Survivor Circuit standings page (launching soon!) where you can see how you’re stacking up week by week, check out weekly results, and watch the championship race unfold.
What We’ve Learned (And Why the Circuit Takes This to the Next Level)
Over the past months of running weekly contests, three things became crystal clear:
1. The survival format creates incredible stories – Teams that look mediocre on Tuesday suddenly carrying their owners to Friday. Popular player picks turn into busts while diamonds in the rough survive deep into the week. We’re watching a solid group of owners develop strategies for how to play these and every week we see new names break through to make the finals for the first time. The changing specs each week require different team builds, and there’s real excitement in seeing wildly different team types succeed. Every week brings fresh drama that deserves a bigger stage.
2. Contests work best when they connect to something bigger – You’d have a great Week 3, terrible Week 4, and both weeks would just… end. Players told us they wanted progression and goals to aim for beyond just “win this week.”
3. New players need a reason to take the plunge – Our weekly contests are great for getting introduced to the game fast, and learning from some of the best players in the game, but not enough newcomers have given them a shot. The Survivor Circuit adds real prizes and organized competition, and for newcomers worried they can’t hang with the regulars, there’s that “win any week and you’re in the semifinals” path. (So you’re telling me there’s a chance!) Plus we’re adding prizes specifically for top Circuit Rookie performance, because we want everyone to give these a real try.
If You Tried Contests Before and Bounced…
Here’s the thing: the contests you tried two months ago aren’t the contests we’re running today.
We got feedback and adapted – expanded player pools to create more strategic choices, tamed the opponent swings to cut down on “great Tuesday, terrible Wednesday” whiplash, expanded the schedule for bigger sample sizes, and experimented with different levers each week to make sure every contest is its own puzzle. We’ll keep adapting as we learn more.
The result? People who got bounced early in the first contests are making Friday finals now. (I myself haven’t made a finals yet, but I am knocking on the door and I’m going to get there soon – no jinx) These contests are an evolving challenge and there are things to learn for all of us.
If you tried contests once and wrote them off as “too random,” you haven’t seen what they’ve become. There’s now an emerging group of players who consistently perform well week after week – showing skill and strategy do matter. Give it another try – anybody can have a bad week or two, but just like in baseball, over time skill will rise to the top. And those skills can be learned.

Reasons for everybody to join us for the Inaugural Survivor Circuit
If you’re a weekly contest veteran: Time to show what you’ve learned.
If you tried contests and drifted away: This is your comeback story. Clear goals, multiple paths to succeed – you don’t need to win every week.
If you’ve never tried a contest: Perfect timing. You’ll learn strategies across different formats and have 10 chances to develop your survival instincts.
If you’ve been away from BaseHit: Welcome back! 15-minute lineup builds, quick daily check-ins, fast results, great chance to hang out again without a huge time commitment.
